Nairobi, KENYA: Local champions Butali Warriors made count home turf by cruising to the semis finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Club Championship thanks to a 2-0 win over Niger Flickers of Nigeria at City Park Stadium on Tuesday.

Two first half goals from Emmanuel Simiyu and Vincent Odhiambo proved vital to Butali as they record their second win on the spin to reach the last four.

With the results, Butali finished second in Pool B on six points, same with leaders Ghana Police who has superior goal difference, while record winners Sharkia of Egypt who had similar points paid the price of scoring less to settle for third position.

Group matches are scheduled to end on Thursday where the reigning champions Telkom Orange of Kenya who are already through to semis, will battle local rivals Sliders.

Ugandan Weatherhead will be up against Sharkia of Egypt while Ghana Police will challenge Tanzanian Dar Ladies.

In men’s fixture Kenya Police will tackle Exchequers as Eastern face off with Wananchi from Tanzania.
