Mombasa, KENYA: KRA officials on Tuesday intercepted two high class Mercedes Benz  vehicles and other valuable goods worth millions of shillings at the port of Mombasa.

The cars which were in a container, are reported to have arrived in September last year and were destined to Uganda, according to KRA officials.

The two motor vehicles are estimated to be worth sh. 4 million each.

KRA deputy commissioner Nicholas Kinoti said the the goods were from Dubai and were destined to Uganda.

He said after the cars were intercepted upon scanning the container, they also found other goods inside which did no match with the goods shown in the documents.

“The  shipping documents did no mach with what we had been earlier seen, raising more suspicion. We had to intervene and do thorough counter checking,” said Mr.  Kinoti.

He noted that Interpol police and and the DCIO are closely working with them in probing whether the vehicles and other goods were stolen.
