At least 61,500 mangroves have been planted along Tudor Creek in Mombasa County.

The over 61k trees were planted in a week-long exercise organized by Kenya Pipeline Company to mark the company’s 50th anniversary.

On Saturday 4th November 7, 2023, KPC was joined by the Kenya Forest Service and several Community Forest Associations and personnel from the Kenya Defence Forces in the culmination of the one-week tree planting exercise which is in line with President William Ruto’s target of planting 50 billion trees in 10 years.

A total of 61,500 trees have been planted this week in Tudor Creek in collaboration with five Community Forest Associations within the County, and who provided the seedlings and labor,” said KPC.
