Police nab Four suspects with 400 mobile phones in Kwale County

Police in Samburu, Kwale County have seized goods worth millions of  shillings including 400 mobile phones suspected to have been stolen.

Four suspects were also nabbed by police during the operation.

According to Samburu/Kwale OCPD Lydia Mambo said the goods include; Motorbikes, 6 Computers, Laptops, 12 TVs , four mattresses, five gas cylinders and Solar panels.

Others are a bicycle, 400 mobile phones, blankets, washing machines and kitchen utensils.

Mambo said police were following up on a stolen phone where a suspect who claimed to have bought the phone, took them to whom sold him the handset.

Its then that police stumbled upon the goods hidden in a room behind an electronics repair shop.

“ The suspect took us to where he bought the phone. We found lots of goods in that house and arrested four suspects”, she said.

Police have now called on area residents of Samburu, McKinnon, Taru, Mariakani and its suburbs who lost their property to come report to Samburu police station to identify them.

“Even if you did not report, please come to Samburu Police station to help us record a statement”, she added.
