Mombasa Deputy County Commissioner Ronald Mwiwawi has issued a stern warning to youths against engaging in drug and substance abuse.

Addressing the media on Friday after receiving a petition from the Anti-LGBTQ Movement, on behalf of the county commissioner, DCC Mwiwawi said drug abuse was among the reasons that precipitated youths to engage in unethical acts.

”I warn our youths against taking drugs. This is something that we cannot accept as government,” he said.

The DCC also noted that the government is committed to addressing any unethical matter in the country.

”That is why we insist our youth adhere to religious values and teachings. Our leaders should also develop laws that favor the local mwananchi,” the DCC further pointed out.

On his part, Anti-LGBTQ Chairman Salim Karama said the movement would not allow any form of what he termed as filth in the Coastal city.

He said they would fight the vice at whatever cost.

”We cannot allow such a mess in this city. Our youths are mostly affected,” Karama noted.
