Police officer loses loaded gun after drugging incident

A policeman is fighting for his life after a suspected drugging incident in Mombasa County.

According to police, a community Policing member informed the Kongowea OCS about an officer in blue attire lying unconscious at a corridor around Mary Joy Academy.

The report further revealed that when officers from the station rushed to the scene, they found the officer senior sergeant Joanes Omondi lying down unconscious with his gun missing.

“He had no shirt and his police radio was besides him. His loaded firearm, Ceska pistol was missing together with his phone and wallet”. It reads.

The officer was the duty officer for the previous day.

“He was rushed to hospital following the incident”, it further reveals.

Police say that the officer was dropped by a motorcycle escorted by another at around 8pm .

“We have commenced investigations”, police said.
