Mjanaheri Secondary school’s dream to participate in the regional school game for the first time will wait for another year after being disqualified on Thursday.

Mjanaheri who emerged champions in Kilifi County, were accused of using a player from another school at the county level.

Mjanaheri sec school coach and teacher Geoffrey Nyamumbo said County sports officials visited the school on Thursday to carry out investigations into allegations that the school had fielded a player from Majenjeni Sec school during the Kilifi County games.

“They left promising to communicate by evening yesterday. We’re learning of our disqualifications that we cannot explain,” said Nyamumbo.

Katana Ngala secondary school who were the runners-up now replace the Champions to represent Kilifi County in the regional games.

The high school competitions have already taken off at Shimo la Tewa school.
