MP aspirant in Mombasa arrested for causing commotion at polling station

At least three people were on Tuesday arrested after a commotion broke out at a polling station in Tudor, Mombasa County.

Among those arrested was Mvita MP aspirant Omar Shallo.

Shallo is vying for the Mvita seat under a United Democratic Alliance ticket.

He is being detained at Makupa police station.

Also detained was Tudor Ward aspirant Samir Bhalo.

The two allegedly staged a protest at Tudor village polling station over claims of vote fraud.

Meanwhile, several arrests have been made across the country because of election malpractices.

Police in Kibra are detaining four women for alleged voter bribery.

Kilifi Mum’s Kibibi Ali is currently being held at Kilifi prisons for alleged voter bribery. She is awaiting trial on Friday.
