A Kenya Defence Forces(KDF)doctor in Syokimau has been arrested for allegedly opening fire at a boda boda rider.

The incident happened after the boda boda rider, Wycliffe Atendo dropped the 21-year-old lady at their house in White House estate, Syokimau and was awaiting payment.

According to Atendo, he received a ride request on his app to pick the lady outside a pharmacy along Kimathi Street, within Nairobi CBD and drop her in Syokimau.

“The duo arrived at the agreed address and as the woman was about to pay him, a man quickly emerged from the gate and gave her a beating like a rented mule, before showing her into the compound,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

While Wycliffe was still confused and pondering his next move, the suspect is said to have pulled out his firearm and shot at the bodaboda rider who fled for his life.

“The rider reported the incident at Syokimau police station and our officers responded swiftly. They established that the man was a military doctor who was armed with a glock pistol and 42 rounds of 9mm calibre,” added the DCI.

The suspect was arrested and handed over to military police for further action, in accordance with military discipline.
