Five thousand police officers will be recruited starting next week (24th March).

National Police service commission boss Eliud Kinuthia warned potential recruits against indiscpline and anything that may hinder their call.

Speaking in Mombasa during a pre- recruitment forum in Mombasa, Kinuthia said the forums intend to resolve the indiscipline cases among police recruits by providing them with necessary information and requirements.

However, he lamented that recruits have little knowledge about police as a career leading to indiscipline cases among police officers.

“ We don’t want indiscpline from potential recruits. They must know they will be held responsible for their actions”, he said.

Kinuthia said the commission has embarked on the public engagement forums to inform the youths about the high discipline demanding career.

On the other hand, Kinuthia also warned those who intend to participate in the recruitment exercise to prepare fully.

“Don’t sleep late a day to recruitment exercise because your mind will be tired. Ensure you prepare well for the big day”, he added.

Last year some GSU recruits were ordered to go re-training following a public outcry after threats of violence to the public during their pass out.
