A family in Mombasa County is crying for justice after their kin went missing under controversial circumstances.

Ms. Fatma Swaleh, a mother of four, is alleged to have disappeared on June 19 this year at 3pm without a trace.

Family spokesperson Ms. Khadija Muhsin, says efforts to find the mother of five have hit rock bottom.

She says they reported the disappearance in all police stations in Mombasa.

“We appeal to whoever sees Swaleh to call us or report to any police station”, she appealed.

Meanwhile Mombasa County Woman Representative Asha Hussein urged the government to set up a special taskforce to curb rising incidents of kidnapping of women and young girls.

She revealed that she has sent a memorandum of understanding to Mombasa County Government to construct a safe house.

“We are planning to build designated safe houses to rescue Women and Children undergoing gender based violence”, she added.
