KNEC releases official revised KCPE, KCSE exams timetable

The Kenya National Examinations Council has released the official revised examination timetable for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

According to the timetable, KCPE will kick-off on Friday 19th March 2021 with the rehearsals.

The candidates will then sit for their first paper on Monday 22nd March, with Mathematics being the first subject from 8:30 – 10:30 in the morning.

After a 30 minutes break, the candidates will then sit for their second paper which will be English language followed by English Composition after 50 minutes lunch break.

The second day, Tuesday 23rd March, will commence with Science in the morning, Kiswahili Lugha after break and Kiswahili Insha after lunch.

The third and last day, Wednesday 24th March, will see the candidates sit for their longest paper which will be Social Studies and Religious Education. The paper will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Students taking the braille examinations will have extra time for all the papers.

As for the form four candidates, French German and Arabic students will take their oral exams from Monday 8th March to Friday 12th March 2021. Sign Language Practical skills and Music practicals will also be done during this period.

Home Science practical planning sessions will be done on Thursday 11th March, 2021, with the practicals taking place on Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th March, 2021.

Friday 19th March will see German, French and Arabic Students take their; listening comprehension dictation and composition; grammar, comprehension and composition; Reading comprehension and grammar examinations. Music students will also have their music paper and aurals while those taking sign language will have receptive skills and language use examinations on the same day.

KCSE rehearsals will take place on Thursday 25th March 2021.
