Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her bodyguard have pleaded not guilty to murder charges in a Mombasa court.
Jumwa and her bodyguard Geoffrey Okuto were charged over the murder of Gumbo Jola on 15th October 2019.
Court heard that the deceased was killed in chaos during campaigns of a by-election in Ganda ward in Malindi, Kilifi County.
Justice Njoki Mwangi has allowed DPP to file an affidavit opposing the suspects being released on bond pending hearing and determination of the case.
Jumwa and Okuto were arraigned in court on Monday and court ordered for a mental assessment report before pleading to the murder charges.
