29 test positive for COVID-19 in Kilifi as Mombasa records five more cases

29 people in Kilifi County have tested positive for Coronavirus.

In a statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that 25 out of the 29 are from Magarini area.

“Kilifi recorded 29 cases, from Magarini (25), Kilifi North (3),and Malindi (1),” read part of the statement.

Mombasa recorded five cases while Nairobi registered 136 cases as the country recorded 437 COVID-19 infections from a sample of 4,311 tested in the last 24 hours.

The 437 new cases now bring total number of people who are COVID-19 positive to 43,580.

Of the new infections, 253 were male and 184 female, age ranging between four months and 95 years.

Kagwe indicated that 140 people recovered from the disease, 72 from home-based care and 68
from various health facilities, bringing total those recoveries to 31,648.
