Coast registers 35 new COVID-19 cases as Country records 10 deaths

Coast region has registered 35 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

Speaking during COVID-19 update briefing on Tuesday, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman announced that Mombasa County recorded 29 new cases and Kilifi 6 cases.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the Country has registered 318 new COVID-19 cases from a sample of 2,592 tested, raising infection numbers to 41,937.

243 patients have also recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. CAS Aman said that 132 patients were under home-based care program while 111 were released from different health care facilities.

The number of COVID-19 fatalities have risen to 787 after 10 more patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.

The youngest infected with the virus is a three month old infant and the eldest is 90 years old, 215 are male and 103 female.

Aman has urged all teachers in schools to adhere to the safety protocols to ensure students stay safe in the school.

“We saw a video of students being sprayed on and it is not a recommendation of the ministry of health,” said Aman.
