Mvita records zero new cases of COVID-19

Mvita sub-county recorded no new case of COVID-19 on Monday at a day when 189 new cases were recorded in the country.

2 cases each in Kisauni and Nyali sub-counties were recorded in Mombasa County, the lowest record made since the virus was first reported in Mombasa on 24th March.

Mvita sub-county had once been listed as the epicenter of the disease in Mombasa County forcing the government to carry out mass testing among KPA employees and in the Old town neighborhood.

According to the daily update given by the Health CS Mutahi Kagwe 147 of the 189 new cases were recorded in Nairobi County.

Nairobi county also recorded 12 new deaths, the highest recorded in the country since the virus was first reported.

“ All the deaths are from Nairobi county, nine from various hospitals while three are community deaths,” Kagwe said.

This raises the number of people who have succumbed to the disease in the country to 197.

65 more people were discharged after recovering from the disease bringing the number of recoveries to 2964.
