Mombasa registers less than 10 new COVID-19 infections

Mombasa has registered less than 10 new COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours.

This is according to data from the ministry of heath which indicates 155 new cases have been recorded in the country and only nine of them are in Mombasa county.

The distribution of the new cases is as follows: Nairobi 104, Busia 19, Migori 10, Mombasa 9, Uasin Gishu 4, Kiambu 3, Machakos 2, Nakuru 2, Kisumu 1, Kajiado 1.

Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi confirmed another 102 discharges bringing to a total tally of 1782 recoveries.

A total of 128 people have succumbed to the virus after three new deaths were recorded.

Mombasa cases are distributed as follows: Jomvu four cases,Mvita three cases while Nyali and Changamwe reported one case each.

40 counties have reported cases of the virus since the first case was reported in March.

A year-old child is among the 155 newly detected coronavirus cases which were diagnosed from 4,171 samples analyzed within 24 hours.

Kibera is leading in recording the highest number of cases registered in Nairobi sub-counties.

Among the positive cases, 120 are males while 35 are females.
