According to the Ministry of Health, Mombasa recorded four new COVID-19 cases as the country toll rose to 355 after 12 more people tested positive for the disease.

“Eight of these cases are in Nairobi and four from Mombasa. All the 12 are Kenyans, but three have a recent history of travel from Somalia. They are aged between 14 and 60,” said Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman.

The four from Mombasa are from Bondeni-Mvita, Barsheba, Kuze-Mvita and Mishomoroni.

The County now has a total of 89 infections, out of which four have died and at least seven recovered.

Eight people were discharged, bringing the national tally of recoveries past 100, to 106. No cases of death were reported this week.

“We have noted the number of recoveries steadily going up while fatalities have stagnated. In the last week, the number of those who have died from COVID-19 have remained at 14. Within the same period we have discharged 39 persons,” said the CAS.
