Ugandan hitmaker Eddy Kenzo seems to have finally gotten over his baby mama who happens to be fellow musician Rema Namakula.
As the world celebrates valentines day, the Sityaloss singer took the opportunity to let the world know that he had buried the hatchet with Rema just months after penned an emotional love letter to Rema ahead of her engagement party to Hamza Ssebunya, with many accusing him of trying to wreck Rema’s relationship.
On Friday, Kenzo shared a photo of Rema and Ssebunya encouraging his followers to go support the Ssebunya’s at a Valentine ’s Day concert that is slated to be held at the Hotel Africana in Kampala.
This comes just a few months after the singer cried live on national TV accusing his estranged ex of being a difficult lover.
“Unlike what the public is seeing on social media and TV, Rema was also a complicated lover.” Kenzo had said in an interview with Ugandan tabloid Tv Bukkedde Tv.
The interview came just weeks after Rema held her Kwanjula(Traditional wedding ceremony) with Ssebunya who is a medical doctor.
The split of what was once considered Uganda’s celebrity power couple took many by surprise.
However, a section of Ugandan media would soon report that the duo broke up in 2017 after Kenzo deserted the house he shared with Rema in Seguku, an upmarket neighborhood of Kampala and took refuge in his recording studios in Makindye, another neighborhood in southern Kampala.
Media reports further indicated that the two had chosen to keep the news of their wrecked relationship a secret for the sake of their daughter Maya Musuuza.
In 2018, Rema threw hints of their failed relationship in her hit Siri muyembe( I am not a mango) where she sang about being in a relationship where she felt unappreciated.
“I am not a mango you wait for to ripen, neither am I a paw-paw that you only harvest when ripe, I am tired of your behavior. Do not cry for me when someone takes me” The Banyabo hitmaker sang.
Reports indicate that Hamza and Rema met in a concert in 2014 when she was still in a relationship with Kenzo.
