Kiunjuri fired as president Uhuru Kenyatta reshuffles cabinet

Mwangi Kiunjuri is a jobless man after president Uhuru Kenyatta fired him on Tuesday during a state of the nation address at state house Mombasa where he also reshuffled the cabinet.

Peter Munya takes over the agriculture docket while Betty Maina takes over the industrialization docket.

The Tuesday reshuffle saw the return of former Information and Communications minister Mutahi Kagwe into the cabinet as he will be taking over the health docket.

Sicily Kariuki has been moved to the water docket while Simon Chelugui has been moved to the Labor docket that was formerly headed by the now confirmed Finance Cabinet Secretary Ukkur Yattani.

Monica Juma has swapped places with Defense CS Rachelle Omamo.

Cabinet Secretaries who have retained their positions include Dr. Fred Matiang’i (Interior), Adan Mohammed (East African Community and Northern Corridor Development), Amina Mohammed (Sports, Culture and Heritage), Charles Keter (Energy), Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution), James Macharia (Transport), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Najib Balala  (Tourism), Prof. George Magoha (Education), Farida Karoney (Lands), Keriako Tobiko (Environment), John Munyes (Petroleum and Mining), and Margaret Kobia (Public Service).

Hussein Dado has been moved to the Interior Ministry as the CAS while Ntutu Patrick (CAS Labour),Tuimur Andrew(CAS Water), Peter Odoyo (CAS Defense),Maureen Mbaka (CAS ICT),Winnie Guchu (CAS, State Law Office) and Lina Kilimo (CAS, Agriculture).
