Mombasa, KENYA: Coast based Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC has fired head coach Benard Mwalala and hired former Harambee Stars coach Twahir Muhiddin as the club’s interim coach.

Bandari parted ways with Mwalala after a series of poor results from the team.

The team, which stands at position 11 in the Kenya Premier League with a mere 18 points, has lost eight of the 16 games they have played this season with only five wins and three draws.

A poor reflection considering they finished at position two in the 2018-19 season having won more than half of their matches with 64 points, just eight points shy of winners Gor Mahia.

The lads have lost the last two of their matches having been beaten 1-0 by Kariobangi Sharks on Wednesday last week and 2-1 on Sunday by Tusker FC who are currently on top of the KPL table.

Until his appointment, Muhiddin served Bandari as the technical director. He also coached the team before being fired in 2016 due to the club’s dismal performance.
