Outrage as TUM student is murdered in cold blood

Mombasa, KENYA: Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) students have condemned the killing of one of their colleagues that took place in Kisauni area at around midnight on Thursday.

In a statement, the University’s students Association have called on the police to investigate the matter.

“I have confirmed the death of our very own David Mwangi a student of BLMS Year 4. He was stabbed at Kisauni earlier today and his body is at Makadara mortuary,” said TUMSA president, Okang’a Dennis.

“It’s saddening all the time to say RIP COMRADE and condoling with families and friends,” he added.

The students have threatened to take matters into their own hands if the police will not deal with the killings.

“I want to state categorically that we the Technical University of Mombasa have enough population and ability to face Kisauni and shun these acts of cowardice gangs. We have made calls to police agencies and security agencies to protect the future of this poor country but it seems our cries have been cast on a rock,” said the student leader in a statement.

David Mwangi was allegedly stabbed to death by an armed gang in Kisauni Constituency who were trying to take his wallet and phone.

Lat year, another student was killed in Kisauni area.

“We shall mourn the looks of a comrade yes, but we must send a message to the police that we don’t just need GSU when we are celebrating election yet when our students are attacked not even Kenya police shows up,” the statement continues to read.
