Mombasa water crisis to continue as water pipe bursts again

Mombasa, KENYA: If you live around Mikindani, Miritini, Magongo, Chaani, Jomvu, Bomu and Changamwe, make sure you stock enough water.

According to Mombasa Water Supply and Sanitation Company, normal water supply in the above mentioned areas will be disrupted following a burst along the main Mzima pipeline.

“There is a reported burst at Ndara area at Udongo mweusi, near Voi town along the main Mzima pipeline as identified by Coast Water Services Board bulk unit,” said the water supply body in a statement.

Coast Water Services board team anticipates to complete repair works of the same within the next fifty eight (58) hours.

“We kindly request our esteemed customers to bear with us and to be patient even as repair works commence at the affected site. We apologize for inconveniences caused,” the statement from Mombasa water continues to read.

The burst came barely two weeks after a similar one at Udongo mwekundu along the main Mzima pipeline.
