A section of MPs from the Orange Democratic Movement have blasted legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto for what they call disparaging remarks directed to COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli.
In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings on Monday, Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi, Rangwe MP Dr. Lilian Rogo, Saboti MP Caleb Khamis, and Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino backed Atwoli’s remarks that deputy president William Ruto won’t be on the ballot come 2022’s presidential race.
“Those leaders who keep on fighting him (Atwoli) they should go back and develop their constituencies, to Deputy President if Francis Atwoli said that you are not going to appear on the ballot then you are not going to appear.”Babu Owino said
Over the weekend in Kakamega allies of Deputy President William Ruto including Kipkelion East MP Joseph Limo and Mumias East member of parliament Benjamin Washiali slammed Atwoli ‘s sentiments vowing that Ruto is there to stay in 2022 presidential race.
The MPs in parliament said that Ruto will clinch power if at all he will be cleared by government agencies to attain a threshold set to vie for the presidency.
Osotsi urged the Ethics and Anti-corruption commission to make sure that chapter six of the constitution which touches on integrity issues is implemented in a bid to uphold integrity in leadership.
