A family in Diff village of Wajir South Sub-county is currently mourning the death of their two daughters who lost their lives on Monday.
The two who have been identified as 13-year-old Naima Habas and 19-year-old Elmilio Habas lost their lives after a metal they had collected in a grazing field exploded on them.
According to their father Habas Haji Noor, the two sisters had been grazing the family goats when they came across the piece of metal and carried it to their compound.
The two sisters later hit the metal in their family compound and that’s when it exploded killing them on the spot according to Mr. Noor.
Police who were called to the scene collected the remains of the two and one of the bodies had been reduced small pieces that were scattered around the scene according to a statement from the police.
The bodies have been taken to the Wajir county referral hospital awaiting a post mortem.
Police who are investigating the incident have cordoned the scene.
