Man killed in suspected love triangle in Magarini

Kilifi, KENYA: Police in Magarini, Kilifi county are investigating an incident where a man was killed in a suspected love triangle on Sunday evening.

The deceased who has been identified as Swaleh Kalume Mwambegu is alleged to have been killed by his estranged wife’s lover Mzungu Dadu.

According to the Magarini police boss Gerald Barasa, the deceased had separated from his wife a few months ago and his wife fled her matrimonial home seeking refuge in the compound of Martin Pondo.

On the fateful day, Mwambegu is said to have walked into the compound of Martin Pondo seeking to reconcile with his wife.

“While went into Ponda’s compound, he learnt that his wife had gotten another man(Mzungu Dadu ) and he got infuriated and started insulting the new man,” Barasa told Baraka FM.

It is then that Mzungu took a piece of wood and started beating the deceased leaving him with fatal injuries.

Mzungu’s and the deceased’s wife who has been identified as Neema Tsuma are said to have fled from the scene and are still missing.

Barasa added that the two were being sought to record statements in regards to the incident.

The body of the deceased is currently lying at the Malindi sub-county hospital.
