Mombasa, KENYA: A woman has been remanded at Shimo la Tewa prison in Mombasa after she tied and beat up her six year old daughter.
The 6 year old girl was found by Haki Africa in the house tied up with marks of beatings on her back.
The mother, a coffee vendor was presented at the Shanzu law courts on Wednesday, a day after she was taken into custody.
According to neighbours, the woman who lives in Bamburi beats up the child everyday and locks her in the house when going to work.
The child has been taken to Mji wa Salama children’s home.
The case will be heard on 21st February, 2018 at the Shanzu law courts.
