Kwale, KENYA: Msambweni legislator Suleiman Dori has openly confirmed that is still a loyal member of ODM.

His sentiments come barely a few days after the ODM disciplinary committee settled on a decision to have the Mp expelled from the party.

The lawmaker predicament began when he declared his support for Deputy president William Ruto in his bid for the presidency in 2022.

Speaking on Saturday while addressing residents of Diani in Kwale county, Dori maintained that he is still in ODM and that he is there to stay despite his support for the government.

“I want to assure you that I’m still a member of ODM party and working with government is not an offence,” he said.

Dori accused his close rival Omari Boga of being self-centered and trying to push for his expulsion from the party.

“If he thinks working with government is an offence, let me justify this that his brother professor Hamadi Boga was appointed  PS for Agriculture by Jubilee administration even before the handshake but how comes he didn’t complain about it,” he said.

The MP who is also the chair for Coast Parliamentary Group CPG said he will continue to work with the government for the benefit of his people.

Last week a section of Msambweni residents believed to be followers of Iddy Boga demonstrated to press for the ouster of the lawmaker from ODM party.
