Nairobi, KENYA: TV journalist Jacque Maribe facing the murder charge of  28 year old Monica Kimani may not appear on your TV screen anymore if the prosecution’s application is allowed.

The prosecution in the case of Ms. Kimani’s murder now wants Judge James Wakiaga to bar Maribe from anchoring news in case her bail application will be allowed on Tuesday 30.

Lawyer Catherine Mwaniki told the court that Ms. Maribe’s presence on screen may intimidate state witnesses in the murder case.

Mwaniki further explained that witnesses may fear to testify against a celebrity who is a news anchor.

‘Incase the suspect is granted bail, the court should add a clause stopping her to read news pending the hearing and determination of murder case against her’said Mwaniki.

The court will on Tuesday 30 give a ruling on a bail application by  Maribe and co-accused Joseph Irungu.
