Msando’s widow Eva Buyu appointed to state job

Nairobi, KENYA: Late Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision acting ICT director Chris Msando’s widow Eva Buyu has been appointed to a state job.

Eva Buyu has been appointed as a board member of the export processing zone where she is set to serve for three years.

Eva was appointed by the Industry, Trade and Cooperatives CS Peter Munya alongside former Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao and John Masaba.

Buyu’s appointment takes effect on 20th September.

Msando was found dead on July 29 at the height of preparations for the August 8, 2017, general election and in March 2018, Eva wrote a letter to Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o seeking for a job in order to educate her children.

Others who had been appointed alongside Buyu include former Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwandeghu who has been appointed to serve  as the board of the unclaimed financial assets authority , former Kitui senator David Musila who has been appointment as the chairperson of the National Museums of Kenya, Former Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga who has been appointed as the chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund.

Former Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro has been appointed to serve as the chairman of the Higher Education Loans Board while former IEBC chairperson Isaack Hassan is set to serve as the chairperson of the Kenya Industrial Institute for three years.

Former Uasin Ngishu gubernatorial seat hopeful Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich is set to serve as the chairperson of the Sony Sugar Board while NASA CEO Norman Magaya has been appointed to serve in the board of the Kenya Film Classification Board.

All the appointees are set to serve for three years effective 20th September.
