Nairobi, KENYA: How to join Illuminati for free, Bobi Wine and Riparian land are among the top google searches by Kenyans for the month of August.

This is according to the latest statistics by the tech giant released on Tuesday.

Football related content topped the list as Betting was the most searched word in August followed by the EPL whose new season kicked off in August.

Kenyans also searched for various prominent individuals who passed away in the month of August, with former UN secretary general Kofi Annan making it to position 3 followed by late soul singer Aretha Franklin at position 8 and late US Senator John McCain at position 10.

Ugandan singer and social activist turned Kyandondo East legislator Bobi Wine whose official names are Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also made it to the list.

“The fourth most popular search item was Bobi Wine, the Ugandan musician turned politician known as Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, who was recently incarcerated for more than a week after being accused of treason. Kyagulanyi was arrested in northern Uganda and his driver shot dead amid clashes between opposition supporters and security forces. His arrest sparked protests in Uganda and Kenya where MPs called on neighboring Uganda to release him.” The Tech giant said in a statement.

Following a move by the Nairobi county government and other government agencies to demolish structures built on Riparian land, Kenyans went online to search about the meaning of Riparian land making it the 6th most googled topic with its predecessor being the word weather.

Kenyans also to searched about notable personalities whose personal lives were characterized by scandals in August.

Former NTV presenter Kobi Kihara who was put on blast by Kenyans for using other people’s photos and posting them as her own on Instagram was the 7th most searched topic while Athlete Asbel Kiprop was the 9th most searched person following an infamous video of him in a compromising position with his friend’s wife surfaced online.

Kenyans are finally thinking about being successful in life as evident in the top 10 how searches.  How to write a cv, How to make money online,    How to write an application letter, How to join Illuminati for free and How to be successful in life were positions1, 2,3,9 and 10 respectively in the how to list.

Kenyans were also interested cooking recipes  as How to bake a cake,How to cook pilau, How to make pancakes and  How to cook spaghetti were the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th   most google topics in the how topic respectively while  how to buy Kplc tokens   was the 7th most googled  sentence in the how category.

Google Search Trends is a publicly available tool that indicates search patterns over a period of time and shows the clusters of searches that made it to the weekly trending searches in the country
