Changamwe Mp Omar Mwinyi has been sentenced to four years in jail after being found guilty of attacking two Police officers in Changamwe during ODM party nominations in April 2017.
He also has an option of paying a fine of sh 1 million shillings.
The verdict was delivered by Mombasa Chief Magistrate Evans Makori.
Mwinyi was charged with 11 counts but the court found him guilty of two counts. The two counts attracted a fine of Sh 500,000 each.
