Mombasa, KENYA: Police in Likoni are investigating an incidence where the body of a newborn baby was found dumped near a school in the area.
Speaking to Baraka FM, Likoni OCPD Benjamin Rotich said that the body was found by a passerby on Tuesday evening.
‘We have taken the body to Coast general hospital as we continue with investigations to find out who dumped it,” said Rotich.
According to police, the baby was dumped immediately after birth and died due to harsh weather.
Mr.Rotich has said that they have not made any arrests but appealed to residents to report in case of any suspect.
The body was discovered near Alfa academy school in Shelly within Likoni Sub County.
Police have warned parents involved in similar cases in the region.
The body is at coast general hospital awaiting post-mortem.
