Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa Court of Appeal has overturned the ruling that quashed the win of Lamu West Member of Parliament Stanley Muthama.
The Court of Appeal ruled that the irregularities and breach of election law cited by the High court did not affect the results.
Malindi High court had earlier nullified Muthama’s election on the ground there were irregularities and it was not done according to the law.
Stanley Muthama of Maendeleo Chap Chap was declared the winner during the August elections after garnering 11,090 votes against Rishad Ahmed Amana who got 10,950.
