Mombasa, KENYA: A new youth centre has been unveiled in Jomvu, Mombasa aimed at nurturing talents for the youths in the area.

The centre named Jomvu Youths Resource Center was unveiled by Jomvu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib and it is based at Kwa Shee area, Mikindani ward.

Speaking to Baraka FM during the launch on Wednesday,Badi said that the centre cost about sh.2 million to construct and that he hopes the youth will use it the maximum.

“We have built this resource centre that costs sh. 2m in order to nurture talents of youths in my area. While we are finalizing installing equipment of the studio, artistes from this area will be allowed to record at a cheaper price and sell what they produce for their own benefit.” Said Badi.

He further promised the residents to launch a tailoring school within the same centre, that will be for training school dropouts as well as other residents who will be willing to learn the skills.

Badi called for cooperation from the residents so as to hit their target of making Jomvu a better place just as he had promised in his manifesto.

“This resource centre is ours and so let us cooperate in transforming Jomvu constituency to a better place by attaining what we had promised during election campaign time,” Badi said.

He also promised to open an IT centre at the same resource centre to educate youths about modern technology. They will be required to pay subsidized fees for the courses.
