Two men charged for trafficking Ivory worth sh 3.7M in Mombasa

Mombasa,KENYA:Two men were charged in Mombasa for allegedly being in possession of Ivory.

 Court heard that Abdikheir Ibrahim and Abdullahi Aden were in possesion of wildlife trophy contrary to the wildlife conservation and management act.
The suspects were arrested on  9th June at around 1100hrs at Buxton police road block on Mombasa Malindi near Nyali bridge.
 The suspects are alleged to be in possession of eight cut piece of ivory with estimated value of Ksh.3,700,000.
They pleaded not guilty before Mombasa chief magistrate Julius Nang’ea.
State council Erick  Masila filed an affidavit  opposing  the accused person to be released on bond.
Court ordered the accused persons to be remanded at Shimo la Tewa maximum prison until  27th June  when application for bond will be heard.
