Kisumu, KENYA: Two men lost their lives and one was seriously injured on Saturday evening after a tyre they were repairing exploded.
The incident happened at Kisian along Kisumu- Busia road.The deceased,identified as Peter Ogot(welder),George Ouma(driver) and Everest Okoth(survivor) were repairing the wheel which became lose due to pressure build up hitting the two men who died on the spot as the survivor was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull.
According to eye witnesses, the three men were repairing the tyre but had not completely deflated it.
“I was just here where I fry fish when I heard an explosion and saw two people tossed into the air,” said Elizabeth Oginga the neighbour who witnessed the happening.
According to Elizabeth, the tyre soared on air before it hit on an electric pole tossing the two men on air and later the wheel landed on a tin roofed shop.
“We took off in panic as the men fell back on the ground,” said Elizabeth.
The survivor sustained deep skull wounds and broken limbs.
