Nairobi, KENYA: There was drama during the Nairobi Central Business District Association chair John Muriuki press conference after unknown people disrupted the meeting on Monday morning.

Trouble ensued when Muriuki started addressing a presser at Boulevard hotel in Nairobi on matters touching on Nairobi ‘s sewage system, the collection of garbage and the stalemate of the deputy governor of Nairobi vacancy, and other administrative matters when he was roughed up by unknown people.

The men accused Muriuki of tainting governor Mike Sonko ‘s name and vowed that they won’t allow him to carry on with the press conference.

Amid disruption, they harassed him by threatening to throw him to Boulevard swimming pool.

They finally escorted him out and tore his press release.

In a statement, Muriuki indicated that there is a need for issues touching sewer system and garbage collection to be tackled diligently to avert any mess in those sectors.

He also urged people to give the governor humble time to choose his deputy governor.

Another press briefing which was scheduled at noon at Serena hotel was canceled indefinitely for fear of further disruption.
