Mombasa, KENYA: Police have gunned down a wanted suspected gangster in Mombasa.

The suspect was shot dead in Bombolulu on Wednesday by special crime prevention unit, officers tasked to crack down criminals in the city.

For the last two weeks now at least one criminal gang is felled by bullets as police intensify crackdown on criminals terrorizing parts of the county.

A police source told Baraka FM that three pistols,50 three mm bullets and household goods were recovered from the suspect’s house.

The suspect had allegedly tried to shoot the officers but was gunned down by the special unit.

The three Ceska pistols will be taken to Nairobi for further analysis.

On Tuesday,  two suspected chafu za dogs criminal gang members were shot dead in Mtongwe, Likoni area.

This brings the number of criminals killed by police and mob in Mombasa to five in the last one week.
