Kenya Railways introduces new timetable for inter county trains

Mombasa,KENYA:The Kenya Railways corporation has announced a new timetable for the inter county Madaraka express passenger service train plying Mombasa Nairobi cities.

The new timetable is scheduled to commence on 1st December 2017 a month after the intercounty train was introduced.

The Nairobi train will leave at 8am and arrive in Mombasa at 1 pm,according to Kenya railways corporation.
The one leaving Mombasa will leave at 7:15 am and is expected to arrive in Nairobi by 1:15 pm.

The trains will be expected to make stop overs a the 7 sub-stations which are Mariakani , Miasenyi, Voi,Mtito Andei, Kibwezi,Emali and Athi river.

Kenya railways managing director Atanas Maina said the changes are meant to benefit commuters using the service.

“The timetable is meant to improve an efficient service to the commuters as the festive season checks “, he said.

The second express train leaving Nairobi to Mombasa will depart Nairobi at 2:30pm while the one leaving Mombasa will depart at 3:30pm.

Madaraka express was commissioned by president Uhuru Kenyatta on 31st May and has been in operation for five months.
