Four injured in Msambweni , Kwale accident

Kwale,KENYA:Four people were on Tuesday evening injured after a lorry rammed into a Tuk Tuk in Msambweni area of Kwale County.

Eye witnesses who spoke to Baraka FM said that the lorry’s brakes failed ramming into a Tuk Tuk which had slowed down following traffic jam.

The eyewitnesses added that the Tuk Tuk further rammed into a saloon car.

“The tuk tuk was hit by the lorry from behind and it inturn knocked the salon car and that’s how it became sandwiched between the two vehicles.”Mwatete Tinde an eye witness told Baraka FM.

He added that the Matatu driver escaped unhurt while the 3 tuktuk passengers and their driver sustained injuries.

“One of the passengers was a pregnant woman who was rushed to hospital with the others including the tuk tuk driver,” he added.

Msambweni OCPD Joseph Chebusit confirmed the incident which he said happened around 6:00pm in the evening.

“It was a coca cola company lorry which was involved in the incident. ” he added.

The OCPD said an eye witness told them that the driver of the salon vehicle also escaped unhurt.
