Tana River,KENYA:A finance committee has been set up by the Tana River county government to audit on government owed debts.
According to the Tana River county governor Major Dadho Godhana, his county has an outstanding debt of over sh 2 million and that prompted them to set up a committee to audit the creditors.
“Experts say part of the sh 2 billion debt could be commitment not debts” Godhana told reporters.
Gandho told reporters that the creditors who would be audited were those hoolding the commitment letters.
Tana River is one of the counties that received an additional of shillings 121 million to facilitate the construction of proper office premises.
