Brazillian national’s house burnt in Likoni

Mombasa,KENYA:A Brazilian national is counting losses after her two bedroom house in Likoni was burnt down mysteriously.

The blaze which started at around 10 am  on Wednesday burnt  household goods worth sh 1 million and sh 50,000 in cash,according to Marris Ann Paul the owner of the house.

Paul says she runs the garden of hope orphanage  and has been living in the area for the past two years.

She also narrated that she had left the house early morning and went to town only to be alerted by her caretaker.

Likoni police boss Benjamin Rotich confirmed the incident saying investigations have been launched.

“We have started investigations about the incident, we can’t rule out if it was caused by an electric fault,” said police boss.

He said the county government responded on time to put off the fire but they didn’t manage.

Eyewitness at the scene told Baraka FM the fire might have been started by arsonists who had an  intention of stealing.
