Nairobi, KENYA: National women’s soccer team Harambee Starlets left the country Monday afternoon for Mozambique where they will take part in the Confederation of Southern African Football Associations COSAFA.
The 20-woman traveling squad lead by head coach Richard Kanyi is in Group B alongside Mozambique, Swaziland and Mauritius in the championship which has attracted a total of 12 teams.
This is the first competitive tournament Harambee Starlets will be competing in after last year’s Women Africa Cup of Nations where they were knocked out in the group stage.
Meanwhile, head coach Richard Kanyi will be seeking a positive start in his first time with the team since replacing David Ouma who guided Starlets to the finals of Cecafa Women’s Championship held in Uganda last year.
