Western region leaders welcome NASA’s Supreme court move

Nairobi, KENYA: Western region leaders under House of Mulembe, have applauded the National Super Alliance NASA for heading to supreme court to seek legal redress over the just concluded general elections.

In a media briefing in Nairobi on Thursday ,The House of Mulembe chair Sebastian Nagafwa said that such decision will lower political temperatures which were occasioned by the declaring of president Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the August polls.

He added that, such move will permit Kenyans to go on with their day to day activities as they await the ruling of Supreme court over the matter.

He further congratulated security apparatus for ensuring that peace prevailed during the electioneering period despite the fact that some areas experienced violent incidences.

“We wish to congratulate the security agents for ensuring that incidents of lawlessness were kept at the lowest level possible.We cannot overlook the effort of IEBC ,for ensuring elections were held in conducive environment amid many challenges,” Negafwa said.

This come a day after NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga said that opposition will file a petition in the Supreme court to challenge the presidential outcome.
