Al shabaab attack police post in Pandanguo Lamu, destroy communication mast


Lamu, KENYA: Heavy gunfire between security agents and gunmen believed to be Al Shabaab militants were on Wednesday morning reported in Lamu’s Pandanguo area.

According to the area village chief Adan Golja, gunshots coming from the sides of the police post were heard at around 5.30am, forcing villagers at Pandanguo to run for safety.

A police source has also confirmed that suspected Al-Shabaab militants had attacked the police camp this morning and that security officers were heading to the scene.

Number of casualties and those injured is still unknown and the attackers are also reported to have destroyed a communication mast at the village.
