Kagere on the double as Gor Mahia down Jang’ombe in Super Cup

Dare es Salaam, TANZANIZA: Ugandan born Rwandan import Meddie Kagere scored a brace to propel Gor Mahia to the semifinal of the of the Sportpesa Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Zanzibar’s Jang’ombe Boys at the Uhuru Stadium, Tanzania on Tuesday.

After playing out to a 0-0 stalemate in the first half, Gor Mahia finally got a breakthrough four minutes after the hour mark through Kagere who connected a Keneth Muguna cross.

Kagere then doubled K’ogalo’s advantage and his second of the day when he prodded in from the sport after Jang’ombe’s player was judged to have handled the ball in the box.

Gor Mahia now join local rivals AFC Leopards, Nakuru All Stars and Tanzanian champions Yanga in the last four of the tournament whose winner will play English  Premier League club Everton in a friendly match in July to beheld in Tanzania.
