Armed suspect nabbed at a polling station


Mombasa,KENYA:Police in Changamwe Mombasa have arrested one suspect who was armed and was heading to a polling station.

The suspect was armed with machetes and knives at the time of arrest,police confirmed.

Police also confiscated 15 big rolls of bhang from the armed man.

Changamwe police boss Peter Omwana said the suspect was planning to disrupt the polling station when his officers ambushed him.

“Our officers noticed the man as he was entering the main gate,the officers tried to stopped him for routine check but he resisted prompting the officers to arrest him,” said Mr Omwana.

Other source’s at police said his motive was not clear .

Mr Omwona said the police were on high alert to make sure the ODM primaries were conducted without any hitch.

The police boss said the suspect will be arraigned in court on Tuesday after investigations are over.He is currently detained at  Changamwe police station.
