Nairobi,KENYA:Wundanyi member of parliament who is also Taita Taveta gubernatorial aspirant Thomas Mwadeghu has said that he will not participate in the Taita Taveta primaries ,as the ODM national elections board reviews the scheduled primaries .
Speaking to journalists at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Monday ,Mwadeghu said that he deserves the nomination certificate insisting that he won fairly.
“We are not going to repeat any polls in Taita Taveta,Mruttu should have been disqualified for hiring goons to disrupt the exercise .why cant the disciplinary committee discipline Mruttu?”Mwadeghu said
Meanwhile ,ODM national elections board has indicated that party primaries schedule to take place in Taita Taveta will not be held.
In a media briefing at party headquarters in Nairobi ,ODM communication director Philip Etale said that the board is reviewing the Taita Taveta issue thus leading to the postponement of the exercise .
“The board has announced that it is reviewing the case of Taita Taveta county and directed that planned exercise in four polling stations in Taveta subcounty will not be held .”Etale said
Etale indicated that there will be a repeat of polls in the 17 polling stations in Mombasa county ,five in Kwale county and Kilifi county .
Also there will be a repeat of the exercise in Nakuru west ,Shinyalu and South Mugirango constituencies and Ibeno and Birongo wards in Kisii county.
Consequently, party primaries in Kisumu,Siaya,Nairobi ,Makueni Garrissa and Vihiga are scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
