Mombasa,KENYA:A man is fighting for his life at Coast general hospital Mombasa after he chopped off his manhood on Saturday morning,police have confirmed.
The victim Ibrahim Juma ,20-year-old from Dongo Kundu in Mtongwe area of Likoni chopped off his manhood and stabbed himself in the stomach several times which resulted in profuse bleeding.
Police who rushed to the scene said the man has been experiencing periodical mental illness and they suspect that might have triggered him to chop off his manhood.
The man used a sharp kitchen knife to repeatedly hack himself before the public tried to wrestle him.
Eyewitness told Baraka FM that the man was rushed to hospital while in critical condition.
“He was in a critical condition,” said one of the officers who rescued the man.
Likoni police boss Willy Simba confirmed the incident also saying the man was in critical condition.
“We are investigating the incident to ascertain the motive of the incident,”said the police boss.
